My Blacks Are Better Than Your Black People: Ann Coulter Defends Remarks

In all honesty, there are very few things that leave me speechless and this is one of them. I stumbled across this story and debated over whether are not I should write about it. I decided to post this story and enlist audience comments.

Ann Coulter is a conservative author that believes conservative blacks are “so much better” than liberal blacks. And she’s sticking to that conviction. Shortly after the news reported that Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain sexually harassed two women in the 90s. Coulter went on a tirade claiming Cain is a victim of the liberal mainstream media and insisted the attacks were akin to “high-tech lynching.”

“Our blacks are so much better than their blacks,” Coulter told Fox News. “To become a black Republican, you don’t just roll into it. You’re not going with the flow. You have fought against probably your family members, probably your neighbors, you have thought everything out and that’s why we have very impressive blacks in our party.”

There are many things that Ann Coulter says and writes that I don’t agree with, but this comment boggles my mind. She speaks as if Black people are commodities she can get by driving down to her local Target and picking the best one on the shelf. A certain part of me is glad that she was bold enough to speak her mind, so now I know where she stands. I was able to find a video of her statements, even after Fox News pulled the video off their site and YouTube.
